⚡️ Quick Quotes: Captains Preview Home Opener

Ohio State Buckeyes

Jordan Fuller

On becoming a captain:

It means everything. It’s probably the biggest honor I’ve received in my whole athletic career. I’m so blessed to be a part of this team. I just try to put my heart and soul into everything I do.

On scouting Oregon State:

They have speed and everything from a skill position standpoint. We’re focused on us and being 1-0.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Nick Bosa

On personal improvements:

I’m faster and my moves are more refined. It’s the same stuff but a little quicker, a little stronger and a little smarter.

On personal goals:

My number one goal is to go to the National Championship. However we get there, I know I’m going to be a contributing factor. I want to make plays and help my team.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Terry McLaurin

On Fall Camp:

Personally, I feel like this is the best camp that I’ve had. When you get to this part of your career you’ve got to find the little things that make your game better. I really want to translate what I’ve done in camp to on the field during this game Saturday and going forward.

On Brian Hartline:

He’s a really hands on coach. He won’t accept anything less than the best. That goes from me down to our freshman. He’s a guy that’s played the game and has been in our shoes so that’s really something that’s encouraging to us as players. He’s seen the game from our perspective and that’s new for us.

On team mindset:

We’re the Ohio State Buckeyes. Everyone wants to beat you and you have to give each opponent the respect that they deserve. We try not to get too deep into where we’re ranked. If we go out there and win every game, then the chips will fall right in place.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Parris Campbell

On veteran wide receiver unit mixed with new quarterback:

It helps a lot just with the experience. We have guys who’ve been there before and played in big time games. I think we know what the expectations are, what the standard is and it’s up to us to demand that across the board.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Tuf Borland

On Fall Camp:

Everyday we’re coming out working, and these guys are competing. Guys trying to earn spots. It’s been a good camp.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Johnnie Dixon

On Dwayne Haskins:

Really good camp for him. We’ve really seen him mature. He makes some of those throws that are just crazy. One day he threw a pass to Austin (Mack) where he was looking this way and threw it that way. He has the talent and he’s ready to unleash it September 1.

On being named a captain:

My mom loved it. As you all can see from last year when she found out I was going to be starting, she went crazy. She loves this. It was a good moment for her and my family as well.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Isaiah Prince

On the home opener:

It’s something we get excited for every year. We’re all crazy excited for the first game of the season.

On Michael Jordan at center:

I think Mike will do a great job at his new position. He’s definitely grown as a player and has really grown into being a center. He’s played well all camp and I think he’s going to have a great season.

On being a captain:

It’s definitely a feeling that still hasn’t hit me yet. I know it’s a great honor but I’m still trying to take it all in.
