Sophomore from Carmel, Ind., leads Ohio State on vault this season

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore, Nicole Krauter returns in 2010 after earning the title of top performer on balance beam for Ohio State as a freshman.  Last March, Krauter posted a Buckeye season-best mark of 9.900 on beam vs. George Washington, earning first place in St. John Arena in just one of six meets the OSU Scholar-Athlete lead the squad on the event.

“This year, Nicole is a contender for the all-around,” Carey Fagan, Ohio State head coach, said. “She has upgraded her bar dismount and with a healthy body; she is likely to compete for a spot in the line-up on every event this season.

“Her poise on beam last year is a great indicator of her ability to handle pressure. We need Krauter to compete in every event with the same confidence she shows on the balance beam.”
