Buckeyes in the NBA


Mike Conley (6’1”-PG-87, graduated ’07, plays in the NBA) Missed last game vs. Thunder with an injury. Led Memphis Grizzlies to a 1-point victory over the Houston Rockets (47-28) 126-125 in the NBA in Wednesday night’s game. Conley was MVP of the game. He recorded 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his five free throws). The Memphis Grizzlies have 30-44 record this season. It’s Conley’s 12th year with the team. Conley has very impressive stats this year 20.9ppg, 3.4rpg, 6.4apg and 1.4spg in 68 games he played so far.


D’Angelo Russell (6’5”-SG-96, graduated ’15, plays pro in the NBA) Scored 39 with nine rebounds and eight assists in a 148-144 double overtime loss at Portland March 25. Led Brooklyn Nets to a 2-point victory over the Sacramento Kings (37-37) 123-121 in the NBA on Tuesday night. He was MVP of the game. Russell recorded a double-double by scoring 44 points and making 12 passes. He also added 4 rebounds and 4 steals in 38 minutes. The Brooklyn Nets have 38-37 record this season. Russell has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 20.9ppg, 3.7rpg, 7.0apg and 1.2spg.


Keita Bates-Diop (6’7”-F) helped Minnesota Timberwolves win their game against the New York Knicks 103-92 in the NBA in Sunday night’s game. Bates-Diop scored 18 points, had 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 35 minutes. This year Bates-Diop averages 3.4ppg and 2.0rpg in 14 games.

Evan Turner (6’7”-G/F) Portland Trail Blazers –  He has posted 7.3 ppg, 4.6 rpg and 3.8 apg this season.

Kostas Koufos (7’0”-C) Sacramento Kings – Is in his 10th season in the NBA and is averaging just short of five rebounds a game.

Aaron Craft (6’2”-PG-91, graduated ’14, plays pro in Italy)  was the major contributor in a Dolomiti En. TR‘s victory against the closely-ranked Alma TR 82-75 in the Italian Serie A in Sunday night’s game. He recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in 30 minutes. Craft has relatively good stats this year 12.0ppg, 4.5rpg, 4.9apg and 2.1spg in 17 games.

Shannon Scott (6’3”-PG-92) Helped Long Island Nets win their game against the Sioux Falls Skyforce crushing them 130-108 in the NBA G League on Thursday night. He scored 15 points, had 6 boards, handed out 6 passes and blocked 2 shots in 28 minutes. This year Scott averages 9.6ppg, 5.4rpg, 6.5apg and 1.1spg in 36 games.

Othello Hunter (6’8”-C-86, graduated ’08, plays pro in Russia) managed to help CSKA Moscow to win against the closely-ranked Anadolu Efes 80-78 in the Euroleague on Tuesday night. Hunter scored only 4 points in 13 minutes. This season he averages 8.3ppg and 4.5rpg. Hunter is a naturalized Liberian.

DeShaun Thomas (6’7”-PF-91, graduated ’13, currently in Greece) led his Greek team Panathinaikos to a 2-point victory over the closely-ranked Baskonia (15-13) 72-70 in the Euroleague last Wednesday. He was MVP of the game. Thomas scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 26 minutes. Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens (15-13) is placed seventh in the Euroleague. It was his team’s sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It’s Thomas’ first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 10.1ppg and 3.8rpg.

Jon Diebler (6’6”-G/F-88) was the major contributor in Darussafaka‘s victory against the league outsider Afyon Bld 85-67 in the Turkish BSL last Monday. He recorded 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This year Diebler averages 9.6ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.5apg in 13 games.

Amedeo Della Valle (6’4”-SG-93, graduated ’14, plays in Italy)  contributed to an AX Armani Exchange Milano‘s victory against one of league’s weakest teams Grissin Bon RE (5-17) 71-67 in the Italian Serie A on Monday night. Della Valle scored 9 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 28 minutes. AX Armani Exchange Milano (18-4) is placed first in the Serie A. It was his team’s third consecutive victory in a row. This year Della Valle averages 9.6ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.7apg in 19 games.

Evan Ravenel (6’9”-C/F-89, graduated ’13, currently in Japan) who plays in the Japanese B2 League was not able to help Fukushima (20-25) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the fourth-placed Fukushima lost 89-97 on the opponent’s court to the leading Gunma in the East group. Ravenel was the top scorer with 30 points. He also added 8 rebounds. Ravenel has very impressive stats this year 21.4ppg, 9.0rpg and 2.9apg in 40 games.

Amir Williams (6’11”-C-92, graduated ’15, plays in Uruguay) was not able to help one of league’s weakest teams Hebraica (1-8) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance Hebraica was defeated 92-83 in a derby game by the second-ranked Olimpia. Williams scored 15 points, had 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Williams has relatively good stats this season 10.3ppg and 5.7rpg.

Zisis Sarikopoulos (7’0”-C-90, graduated ’10, currently in Belarus) led his Belarusian team Tsmoki-Minsk to a victory against one of league’s weakest teams Parma 80-68 in the VTB United League in Sunday night’s game. Sarikopoulos had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added and 4 steals. Sarikopoulos has relatively good stats this year 10.8ppg, 7.1rpg and 1.2apg in 19 games.

Jae’Sean Tate (6’4”-F-95, graduated ’18, plays pro in Belgium) contributed to a Telenet Giants Antwerp‘s victory against the closely-ranked Basic-Fit Brussels 74-68 in the Belgian Euromillions League on Sunday night. He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Tate has relatively good stats this year 11.5ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.9apg in 20 games.

David Lighty (6’6”-G/F-88) led ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket to a 2-point victory against the fifth-ranked Chalon/Saor (15-9) 106-104 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA on Saturday night. He scored 16 points and added 4 assists (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (17-6) is placed first in the Jeep ELITE ProA. Lighty has relatively good stats this year 10.6ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.6apg in 23 games.

Daequan Cook (6’5”-G/F-87) who plays in the Israeli Winner League was not able to help Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona (9-14) in their game last Tuesday. Despite his very good performance Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona was defeated 86-74 in Tel-Aviv by the leading Maccabi T-A. Cook was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 29 minutes. This season Cook has very high stats. He averages 17.6ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.5apg.

Kamerom Williams (6’2”-G-94) couldn’t help Sayago in their game against Nacional in the Uruguayan LUB. Despite his very good performance last Thursday He was the top scorer with 25 points. This season Williams has very high stats. He averages 17.7ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.4apg.

Lenzelle Smith Jr. (6’4”-G-91) couldn’t help Hapoel Eilat in their game against Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Winner League. He scored only 4 points and added 3 passes. His team was defeated 82-70. Smith Jr. has relatively good stats this season 12.3ppg, 4.6rpg, 5.6apg and 1.6spg.

William Buford (6’5”-G-90, graduated ’12, plays in Greece) was not able to secure a victory for Lavrio (4-13) in their last game. Despite Buford’s very good performance Lavrio lost 91-101 in Athens to the lower-ranked (#12) Panionios. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Buford also added 5 rebounds. This year Buford averages 7.0ppg and 3.0rpg in five games.

Ronald Lewis (6’4”-SG-84, graduated ’07, plays in France) contributed to a FOS Provence Basket‘s surprising victory against the sixth-ranked Chalon/Saor 76-73 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA last Friday. Lewis scored 18 points in 35 minutes. This season Lewis has very high stats. He averages 17.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.2apg and 1.3spg.

Marc Loving (6’8”-F-94) plays for Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario in the NBA G League

Byron Mullens (7’0”-C-89, graduated ’09, plays in Japan) could not help Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo (10-39) in their game last Sunday. Despite Mullens’ very good performance the sixth-placed Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo (10-39) was defeated 92-77 on the road by the second-ranked Toshiba Thunders in the East group. He recorded a double-double by scoring 38 points and getting 10 rebounds. Mullens also added 3 assists in 37 minutes. It’s Mullens’ first season with the team. This year he has very high stats. Mullens averages 19.5ppg, 10.1rpg, 1.7apg and 2.6bpg. He is a naturalized British.

Trevor Thompson (7’0”-C-94) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jae’Sean Tate and both played together in the last Belgian Euromillions League game. Thompson helped Telenet Giants Antwerp win their game against the seventh-ranked Limburg United 86-73. He scored 9 points in only 12 minutes. This year Thompson averages 6.7ppg and 2.7rpg in three games.
