Buckeyes in the NBA


Mike Conley (6’1”-PG-87, graduated ’07, plays in the NBA)  Despite Conley’s double-double – 25 points and 10 assists – the Memphis Grizzlies (23-37) were defeated 112-106 on the road by the Clippers. Conley also added 2 blocks. He averages 20.0ppg, 3.4rpg, 6.5apg and 1.4spg in his 12th season with Memphis.

D’Angelo Russell (6’5”-SG-96, graduated ’15, plays pro in the NBA) Russell recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists for the Nets in a 113-99 loss in Portland. This season Russell averages 20.2ppg, 3.8rpg, 6.7apg and 1.1spg.  He was a 2019 NBA All-Star.

Evan Turner (6’7”-G/F) Portland Trail Blazers  –  He has posted 7.5 ppg, 4.6 rpg and 4.0 apg this season.

Kostas Koufos (7’0”-C) Sacramento Kings – Is in his 10th season in the NBA and is averaging just short of five rebounds a game.

Keita Bates-Diop (6’7”-F) plays for Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA

Aaron Craft (6’2”-PG-91, graduated ’14, plays pro in Italy)  was the main contributor in a Dolomiti En. TR‘s surprising victory against the second-ranked Umana Venezia (13-6) 81-77 in the Italian Serie A in Sunday night’s game. Craft was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 12 rebounds. Craft also added 4 assists. Dolomiti Energia Trento (9-10) is placed 11th in the Serie A. Craft has relatively good stats this season 11.5ppg, 4.6rpg, 5.1apg and 1.9spg.

Shannon Scott (6’3”-PG-92) Helped Long Island Nets win their game against the Sioux Falls Skyforce crushing them 130-108 in the NBA G League on Thursday night. He scored 15 points, had 6 boards, handed out 6 passes and blocked 2 shots in 28 minutes. This year Scott averages 9.6ppg, 5.4rpg, 6.5apg and 1.1spg in 36 games.

Othello Hunter (6’8”-C-86, graduated ’08, plays pro in Russia) contributed to CSKA‘s victory against one of league’s weakest teams Parma (3-13) 79-69 in the VTB United League on Friday night. He scored 9 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes. CSKA Moscow (17-2) is placed first in the VTB United League. There are only two games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Hunter averages 9.6ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.1apg in 16 games. He is a naturalized Liberian.

DeShaun Thomas (6’7”-PF-91, graduated ’13, currently in Greece)  plays in Greece could not help Panathinaikos (9-13) in their last game. Despite his good performance Panathinaikos was badly defeated 85-66 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#3) Fenerbahce. Thomas was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 6 rebounds in 27 minutes. It’s Thomas’ first season with the team. This year Thomas averages 8.8ppg and 3.6rpg in 22 games.

Jon Diebler (6’6”-G/F-88) plays for Darussafaka in Turkish BSL contributed to Darussafaka‘s victory against the closely-ranked Turk Telekom 94-87 in the Turkish BSL last Monday. He scored 13 points and added 6 passes in 33 minutes. This year Diebler averages 9.3ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.7apg in six games.

Amedeo Della Valle (6’4”-SG-93, graduated ’14, plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked VL Pesaro (6-13) crushing them 111-74 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. Della Valle recorded 17 points and added 9 assists. AX Armani Exchange Milano (16-3) is placed first in the Serie A. This season Della Valle averages 9.1ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.5apg.

Evan Ravenel (6’9”-C/F-89, graduated ’13, currently in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Fukushima in their game against Gunma in the Japanese B2 League. Despite his very good performance on Friday night Ravenel was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 7 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 3 balls. This season Ravenel has very high stats. He averages 21.3ppg, 9.1rpg and 3.0apg.

Amir Williams (6’11”-C-92, graduated ’15, plays in Uruguay) was not able to help one of league’s weakest teams Hebraica (1-8) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance Hebraica was defeated 92-83 in a derby game by the second-ranked Olimpia. Williams scored 15 points, had 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Williams has relatively good stats this season 10.3ppg and 5.7rpg.

Zisis Sarikopoulos (7’0”-C-90, graduated ’10, currently in Belarus) was not able to secure a victory for Tsmoki-Minsk (2-13) in their last game. Despite Sarikopoulos’ 16 points and 9 rebounds, the bottom-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk was crushed 99-57 at home by the much higher-ranked (#3) Unics Kazan. This year Sarikopoulos averages 10.0ppg, 6.9rpg and 1.1apg in 15 games.

Jae’Sean Tate (6’4”-F-95, graduated ’18, plays pro in Belgium) contributed to a Telenet Giants Antwerp‘s victory against the seventh-ranked Limburg United (6-11) 86-73 in the Belgian Euromillions League last Friday. Tate scored 12 points in 27 minutes. Telenet Giants Antwerp (11-4) is placed third in the Euromillions League. It was his team’s fourth consecutive victory in a row. Tate has relatively good stats this year 12.2ppg, 3.9rpg and 2.0apg in 15 games.

David Lighty (6’6”-G/F-88)  was the major contributor in an ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket‘s victory against the 13th-ranked Boulazac Basket 78-73 in the French Jeep ELITE on Friday night. Lighty scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Lighty has relatively good stats this season 10.1ppg, 3.7rpg, 2.5apg and 1.1spg.

Daequan Cook (6’5”-G/F-87) helped Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona win their game against the closely-ranked Beer Sheva 90-78 in the Israeli Winner League on Sunday night. Cook scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season Cook has very high stats. He averages 17.1ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.7apg.

Kamerom Williams (6’2”-G-94) couldn’t help Sayago in their game against Nacional in the Uruguayan LUB. Despite his very good performance last Thursday He was the top scorer with 25 points. This season Williams has very high stats. He averages 17.7ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.4apg.

Lenzelle Smith Jr. (6’4”-G-91) couldn’t help Hapoel Eilat in their game against Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Winner League. He scored only 4 points and added 3 passes. His team was defeated 82-70. Smith Jr. has relatively good stats this season 12.3ppg, 4.6rpg, 5.6apg and 1.6spg.

Ronald Lewis (6’4”-SG-84, graduated ’07, plays in France) helped FOS Provence Basket win their game against the sixth-ranked Limoges CSP Elite 87-72 in the French Jeep ELITE in Saturday night’s game. He was MVP of the game. Lewis recorded 26 points. Lewis has very impressive stats this year 17.5ppg, 3.6rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg in 19 games.

Marc Loving (6’8”-F-94) plays for Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario in the NBA G League

Trevor Thompson (7’0”-C-94) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jae’Sean Tate and both played together in the last Belgian Euromillions League game. Thompson helped Telenet Giants Antwerp win their game against the seventh-ranked Limburg United 86-73. He scored 9 points in only 12 minutes. This year Thompson averages 6.7ppg and 2.7rpg in three games.
