Buckeyes in the NBA

Evan Turner (6’7”-G/F) Portland Trail Blazers – Turner scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the deciding game-seven victory over Denver in the Western Conference Semifinals Sunday. The Blazers opened up the Western Conference Finals Tuesday vs. Golden State, losing 116-94. Turner grabbed five rebounds and dished four assists. During the regular season, Turner averaged 6.1 ppg, 4.4 rpg and 3.6 apg. Averaged 3.6 rebounds per game in the NBA Western Conference first round playoff series with over Oklahoma City.


D’Angelo Russell (6’5”-SG-96, graduated ’15, plays pro in the NBA) Nets were eliminated in the first round of the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs by the 76ers. In the regular season, Russell averaged 21.2ppg, 3.9rpg, 6.8apg and 1.2spg.


Mike Conley (6’1”-PG-87, graduated ’07, plays in the NBA) Completed a standout 12th campaign, averaging 21.1 points per game along with 6.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds per outing. He set career highs in points scored (1,478) and field goals made (490) in 70 games played.


 

Keita Bates-Diop (6’7”-F) Played in 30 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves and averaged 5.0 ppg and 2.8 rpg in his rookie campaign.


Kostas Koufos (7’0”-C) Sacramento Kings – Completed his 10th season in the NBA, playing in for 42 game for SAC. He averaged 42. rebounds per game and 1.7 points per contest.

Aaron Craft (6’2”-PG-91, graduated ’14, plays pro in Italy) helped Dolomiti En. TR win their game against the closely-ranked Happy Casa BR 81-76 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. Craft scored only 4 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Craft has relatively good stats this year 12.3ppg, 4.8rpg, 4.5apg and 2.0spg in 25 games.Craft has relatively good stats this season 12.6ppg, 4.7rpg, 4.6apg and 2.1spg.

David Lighty (6’6”-G/F-88) helped ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket win their game against the 15th-ranked Cholet Basket 87-78 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA on Tuesday night. Lighty scored only 4 points and added 3 passes in 14 minutes. Lighty has relatively good stats this season 10.3ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.6apg and 1.1spg.

Jae’Sean Tate (6’4”-F-95, graduated ’18, plays pro in Belgium) was the major contributor in a Telenet Giants Antwerp‘s victory against the eighth-ranked Okapi Aalstar (12-22) 90-83 in the Belgian Euromillions League in Tuesday night’s game. He scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it’s only Tate’s first season in pro basketball. Telenet Giants Antwerp (27-6) is placed first in the Euromillions League. It was his team’s seventh consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It’s Tate’s first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season 10.7ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.7apg in 33 games he played so far.

Shannon Scott (6’3”-PG-92) Helped Long Island Nets win their game against the Sioux Falls Skyforce crushing them 130-108 in the NBA G League on Thursday night. He scored 15 points, had 6 boards, handed out 6 passes and blocked 2 shots in 28 minutes. This year Scott averages 9.6ppg, 5.4rpg, 6.5apg and 1.1spg in 36 games.

Othello Hunter (6’8”-C-86, graduated ’08, plays pro in Russia)  managed to help CSKA Moscow in a victory against the eighth-ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (14-12) 80-72 in the VTB United League on Thursday night. He scored only 3 points. CSKA Moscow (22-4) is placed first in the VTB United League. It was his team’s third consecutive victory in a row. This year Hunter averages 8.9ppg and 3.9rpg in 22 games. He is a naturalized Liberian.

DeShaun Thomas (6’7”-PF-91, graduated ’13, currently in Greece) led Panathinaikos to a victory over the eighth-ranked Holargos (11-14) 81-64 in the Greek A1 last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Thomas scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 25 minutes. Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens (19-1) is placed first in the A1. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It’s Thomas’ first season with the team. Thomas has relatively good stats this year 13.0ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.3apg in 22 games he played so far.

Jon Diebler (6’6”-G/F-88) was the major contributor in Darussafaka‘s victory against the league outsider Afyon Bld 85-67 in the Turkish BSL last Monday. He recorded 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This year Diebler averages 9.6ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.5apg in 13 games.

Amedeo Della Valle (6’4”-SG-93, graduated ’14, plays in Italy)  led AX Armani Exchange Milano to a victory over the seventh-ranked Alma TR (16-14) 93-88 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Della Valle scored 21 points in 22 minutes. AX Armani Exchange Milano (23-7) is placed first in the Serie A. It was his team’s third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Della Valle averages 8.1ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.3apg.

Evan Ravenel (6’9”-C/F-89, graduated ’13, currently in Japan)  led Fukushima to a 2-point victory over the third-ranked Cyberdyne IR (35-25) 90-88 in the Japanese B2 League on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Ravenel scored 35 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 37 minutes. Fukushima Firebonds (27-33) are placed fourth in East group. It was his team’s third consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. It’s Ravenel’s first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Ravenel averages 21.9ppg, 9.0rpg and 2.9apg in 55 games.

Amir Williams (6’11”-C-92, graduated ’15, plays in Uruguay) helped Atomeromu win their game against the leader KTE-Duna crushing them 92-69 in the Hungarian A Division on Saturday night. He scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This year Williams averages 6.0ppg and 4.5rpg in 14 games.

Zisis Sarikopoulos (7’0”-C-90, graduated ’10, currently in Belarus)  helped Tsmoki-Minsk win their game against the leader COR-Borisfen 76-64 in the Belarusian Premier League in Saturday night’s game. Sarikopoulos recorded 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This year Sarikopoulos averages 9.4ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.6apg in five games.

Daequan Cook (6’5”-G/F-87) was not able to help Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona (13-17) in their last game. Despite Cook’s good performance Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona lost 92-101 on the road to the lower-ranked (#9) Maccabi Ashdod. He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 29 minutes. Cook has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 17.4ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.5apg in 24 games.

Kamerom Williams (6’2”-G-94) couldn’t help Sayago in their game against Nacional in the Uruguayan LUB. Despite his very good performance last Thursday He was the top scorer with 25 points. This season Williams has very high stats. He averages 17.7ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.4apg.

Lenzelle Smith Jr. (6’4”-G-91) couldn’t help Hapoel Eilat in their game against Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Winner League. He scored only 4 points and added 3 passes. His team was defeated 82-70. Smith Jr. has relatively good stats this season 12.3ppg, 4.6rpg, 5.6apg and 1.6spg.

William Buford (6’5”-G-90, graduated ’12, plays in Greece) helped Lavrio win their game against the closely-ranked Ifestos (13-13) crushing them 96-76 in the Greek A1 in Wednesday night’s game. He scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. GS Lavrio Aegean Cargo (8-18) is placed tenth in the A1. The Regular Season already ended. This season Buford averages 10.0ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.5apg.

Ronald Lewis (6’4”-SG-84, graduated ’07, plays in France) who plays in the French Jeep ELITE ProA could not help FOS Provence Basket (9-24) in their game last Tuesday. Despite his good performance FOS Provence Basket was defeated 79-67 on the road by the higher-ranked Le Portel (#12). Lewis scored 12 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 31 minutes. Lewis has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 15.6ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg.

Marc Loving (6’8”-F-94) plays for Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario in the NBA G League

Byron Mullens (7’0”-C-89, graduated ’09, plays in Japan) couldn’t help Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo (10-50) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Mullens’ very good performance the sixth-placed Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo was defeated 81-74 in Tokyo by the higher-ranked Toyota Alvark (#3) in the East group. He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 10 rebounds. Mullens also added 4 assists. This season he has very high stats. Mullens averages 20.8ppg, 10.1rpg, 1.9apg and 2.3bpg.

Trevor Thompson (7’0”-C-94)  is a teammate of previously mentioned Jae’Sean Tate. But that was another game of his team in Basketball Champions League which we would like to mention. Thompson was not able to secure a victory for Telenet Giants Antwerp in their game against CB Canarias. He recorded only 4 points. His team was badly defeated by 16 points 70-54. This season Thompson averages 2.1ppg.
