#ProBucks Recap – August 27

Three Buckeyes were on the same field in Denver on Saturday, as Jack Jasinski and the Outlaws tangled with Ben Randall, Matt Borges and the Long Island Lizards. Jasinski took three shots and picked up two ground balls in a 16-13 winning effort. Borges, meanwhile, picked up a ground ball for the Lizards.

The win for Denver snapped a four-game losing streak and improved their overall record to 7-5, putting them firmly in playoff contention.

Despite the loss, Randall continues to have a stellar season for the Lizards. He’s currently fifth in the league with 14 caused turnovers and also had 26 ground balls. Borges has three caused turnovers and 10 ground balls in six games.

The 10th week of Premier Lacrosse League action took place in Albany, N.Y. and included Dominique Alexander and the Archers LC picking up a 11-8 win over the Whipsnakes to clinch a playoff berth. In 10 games this season, Alexander has 15 ground balls, five caused turnovers and an assist.

Kevin Buchanan has been an offensive contributor for the league’s best team, Chaos LC, scoring eight goals and adding one assist for nine points. He scored once in last week’s 12-9 loss to Atlas LC in the regular season finale.

Buchanan, Alexander and Tyler Pfister, who is teammates with Alexander on Archers LC, will return home to Columbus for the opening round on the inaugural PLL playoffs the weekend of Sept. 6-7. Chaos LC takes on Whipsnakes LC on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. while Archers LC tangles with Redwoods LC on Friday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. All games will take place at Mapfre Stadium and tickets can be purchased by CLICKING HERE.

On Sunday night Jesse King and the Victoria Shamrocks became the 2019 Western Lacrosse Association Champions. He will now move onto compete in the Mann Cup, which starts Sept. 6th.

The Peterborough Lakers (Brock Sorenson, Jake Withers and Turner Evans) are tied up with Six Nations 2-2. If they win the series they’ll see Victoria Shamrocks in a battle for the Mann Cup.
