As training camps opened around the National Hockey League, more than a dozen #ProBucks were on rosters across the league.
Two Buckeyes – forward Carson Meyer (2019-20) and goalie Evan Moyse (2018-21) – moved from Value City Area to downtown and are with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The New York Rangers have two Buckeyes forwards in camp – Tanner Fritz (2012-15) and Anthony Greco (2013-16). Fritz and Greco have both seen NHL action in their pro careers.
A duo of Buckeyes are in Pittsburgh with the Penguins – goalie Tommy Nappier (2018-21) and defenseman and Pittsburgh native Matt Bartkowski (2009-10). Bartkowski has played 256 NHL games since turning pro after his sophomore year. Nappier made his pro debut last season after the Buckeyes’ campaign ended.
Layton Ahac (2020-21), who turned professional after last season, is in his first NHL training camp with the Vegas Knights.
Tanner Laczynski (2017-20), a forward who skated in his first NHL games a season ago, is in Philadelphia with the Flyers.
Dakota Joshua (2016-19) also made his NHL debut last year with St. Louis and he is at training camp with the Blues this fall.
Zac Dalpe (2009-10) signed with Florida in the offseason and is in camp with the Panthers. He has skated in 153 NHL games.
Mason Jobst (2016-19) is in Buffalo at the Sabres’ camp after signing with the Rochester in the summer.
Ryan Dzingel (2012-14), who has played in 372 NHL games, is with Arizona. He signed with the Coyotes in the offseason.
Josh Healey (2014-17) is in camp with the Nashville Predators on a try-out agreement. He signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Preds in the spring.
Max McCormick (2012-14) signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Seattle Kraken Sept. 29 and joined their camp. He has played in 83 NHL games, including 12 in 2021-21 with the Hurricanes.
#ProBucks also sent the 2021-22 Buckeyes good luck messages for the season.
