#ProBucks at NHL Rookie Camps

Former Buckeyes – all members of the Buckeye Hockey Class of ’19 – are at NHL prospect tournaments and rookie tournaments this week.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Goalie Sean Romeo, who signed with ECHL Cincinnati, is a free agent invitee to the Detroit Red Wings prospect tournament in Traverse City. He and the squad won the Matthew Wuest Memorial Cup Tuesday evening. Romeo was 3-0, starting the team’s last three games, including making 23 saves in the final. Romeo’s play in the rookie tournament earned him an invite to the Red Wings’ NHL training camp.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Sasha Larocque, a defenseman who signed with the AHL Colorado Eagles, played with the Colorado Avalanche in their prospect tournament in Anaheim.

Forward Mason Jobst, who signed a two-way deal with the New York Islanders, is at Rookie Camp with the team.  At NHL camp next week, Jobst will be joined by fellow #ProBucks Tanner Fritz and Nick Schilkey.

Dakota Joshua, who signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues after his rights were traded from Toronto, is at the NHL Prospect Tournament in Traverse City with the Blues.

John Wiitala, a part of AHL Rochester, was with the Buffalo Sabres squad at their Prospects Challenge tournament in Buffalo.
