With National Hockey League training camps starting, Buckeyes are on NHL rosters throughout the league …

  • Matt Bartkowski (2009-10), who has played in 255 NHL games, is in camp with the Minnesota Wild. He was with the Wild a season ago, but did not appear in an NHL regular season game, skating in one playoff contest. He signed a one-year deal with the Wild prior to this year and skated with the AHL Iowa Wild last year.
  • Tanner Laczynski (2017-20), an All-American and first-year pro, is on the Flyers’ training camp roster after signing an entry level contract with the team in the spring. He is recovering from core muscle surgery and not available for formal practices as camp gets underway.
  • Two Buckeyes who played from 2012-14 – Ryan Dzingel and Max McCormick – are at the Carolina Hurricanes’ camp. Last season was Dzingel’s first with the club and he skated in 64 regular season games (8g, 21a, 29p) and four postseason contests.  McCormick is in his second year with the Canes but did not appear in a game for the team in 2019-20, skating in 56 contests for the Charlotte Checkers (16g, 19a, 35p).
  • Zac Dalpe (2009-10) is with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was limited to 18 games with the AHL Cleveland Monsters in 2019-20 because of injury. Dalpe has played in 141 career NHL games.
  • Anthony Greco (2013-16), who hails from Queens, N.Y., is at the New York Rangers training camp. The forward signed with the NYR in the offeseason. He was in the AHL with Springfield, Syracuse and San Jose last year.
  • Goalie Matt Tomkins (2011-14) is at the Blackhawks’ training camp. Last year he played in 13 games with AHL Rockford and he signed a two-way deal with Chicago in January.
