No. 12 Ohio State (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten) 63, No. 21/20 Nebraska (4-2, 1-1 Big Ten) 38
Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio
Oct. 6, 2012
Attendance: 106,102 (stadium record)

Corey Brown, junior wide receiver
On his punt return for a touchdown
“Overall it was just good blocking. When we watch the film tomorrow, that’s what we’ll see, those guys making good blocks. Making those perfect blocks made it easy for me. The blocking was honestly so good I didn’t even see anyone in front of me, just the punter. I knew I just had to make one person miss.”

On Braxton Miller’s 31-yard touchdown run
“Obviously we couldn’t get anything going at the beginning of the game. Having someone like Braxton making a big play got the crowd back into it. He got us into the game along with the crowd and gave us confidence we would be able to score.”

Carlos Hyde, junior running back
On Ohio State’s running game
“I have to give all the credit to the offensive line. If they didn’t do their job, we wouldn’t have been able to run for 300-plus yards. They were great tonight.”

On Nebraska’s defense
“I watched the UCLA game [a 36-30 UCLA win] and their running back [Johnathan Franklin] had 200-plus yards against them, so I knew there would be opportunities.”

Jeff Heuerman, sophomore tight end
On Ohio State’s offense
“I think the biggest thing to take away from tonight is we need to put together a complete game. We struggled a little bit in the first quarter and had to make adjustments.”

On Ohio State’s fake punt
“Coach Meyer isn’t afraid of taking chances. He saw that as a chance he thought we should take. We knew we had to play harder after that happened and make up for not getting the first down.”

Bo Pelini, Nebraska head coach
On the overall game
“Congratulations to Ohio State, they played a great game. We, however, did not play our best, and that is really disappointing. Like I just told my football team, we need to win out. We need to win out because that is the only way to make it to Indianapolis.”

On the Nebraska defense
“What changed after the first quarter was not getting off blocks, not making tackles and just not playing well enough. We overall just did not play good enough. Ohio State deserved that football game.”

On the Nebraska turnovers
“Taylor Martinez did a lot of good thing offensively, but turning the ball over kills you. Special teams wise we played lousy and not nearly well enough to play championship football. We also had problems in the penalty area.”

On the atmosphere
“We practice with crowd noise at home; we are used to this kind of atmosphere. I really do not know what happened to us tonight but it is something we are going to talk about.”

On Nebraska’s upcoming bye week
“The plan is to work, because the way I see it we have six more football games left. And we need to win six football games to get to Indianapolis.”

Taylor Martinez, junior quarterback
On the game
“We lost and have to move on from here.”

On rest of season
“We have to win out, our goal is to make the Rose Bowl and the only way to do that is to win the rest of the games on our schedule.”

Spencer Long, junior right guard
On penalties and crowd noise
“The crowd noise was a definite factor, but it’s tough to win when you beat yourself. We have to get better.”
