Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

Lisa Bluder, Iowa Head Coach
On the game
“Ohio State is a very good basketball team. They deserve their raking. There is not a lot of weakness and they build the team around (Jessica) Davenport. She is an incredible player and has the strength of an outside shooter. I was disappointed in our turnovers. We need to do a better job on the boards.”

On Ohio State’s scoring
“Their bench outscored us 23-4. They have so many weapons. There is so much talent on this team and they are playing very well with it. Ohio State applied great pressure on the ball.”

Jamie Cavey, senior center
On Ohio State’s strengths
“They are great at rebounding and forcing turnovers. There is always someone on Ohio State who can score.”

Jim Foster, Ohio State Head Coach
On Ohio State’s defensive intensity
“Our defensive intensity has become the staple of our team. From the defensive point of view, we have made adjustments. We played hard. Maintaining the intensity of our defense is the framework of our offense.”

On bench scoring
“Each player understands what shot is good for them. This makes us pretty hard to guard. Everyone understands the role for them. They also understand what makes them good. We are able to space ourselves out and be unselfish with the ball.”

Caity Matter, Ohio State guard
On the bench scoring
“One through 14, we know we can score. With each one of us knowing our role and what shots are good for us, each night different people will score.”

Michelle Muñoz, Ohio State forward
On her performance
“I just have to take advantage of the opportunities when they come. Coach (Foster) tells me I need to be more aggressive. I just have to stay in my role and make the shots that will help us be successful. The great thing about our team is, if someone isn’t getting the job done, someone else will.”
