Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

Jim Foster, Ohio State head coach
On the game
“I think the players all played hard. I think that they (Michigan State) played smarter then we did. I think we played in more of a rush than they did. We were in too much of a hurry.”

On Michigan State
“They weren’t trying to make shots more or less they were just trying to get all of their shots up on the glass. Once they got it up there, DeHaan just went up and got the boards and made several easy lay-ups.”

On the three-point shooting
“We should have shot about half as many three’s as we did. We rushed just about all of our threes. We shot them too early in the shot clock. I don’t think we had too many rhythm threes.”

Jessica Davenport senior center
On the game
“I left my man open to help a few times. I needed to be smarter. I have played Michigan State many times and I need to be smarter. One thing that I will remember from this game is leaving my man on the last play to help and the ball came off the boards and she had an easy basket.”

Marscilla Packer, junior guard
On her last three point attempt
“It worked out just like we wanted to. I passed it to Jessica (Davenport) and they doubled her and I steped into the corner and took my shot and it just went long.”

Joanne P. McCallie
On the win
“It was an excellent basketball game with a much better second half from us. It was a tough game because Ohio State is a great team.”

On Michigan State
“Our kids deserve to be excited to find a way to win with some of our players not playing there `A’ game. It was a wonderful opportunity for (Allyssa) DeHaan to go against a great player like Jessica (Davenport).”
