Ohio State head coach Jim O’Brien
On the match up problems
“We understood coming into tonight that we had some match up problems and we all had to be aware of the shooting ability of their big man. Give credit to their big men, they really did a nice job from beyond the arc.”

On preparing for their defense
“We spent two days in practice working on their 1-3-1 zone and we did our best to get some good shots off against their zone.”

On the junior guard Tony Stockman
“Tony has had two games where he has been magnificent. I really think he had a complete game tonight. He did not turn the ball over a lot and he made some big shots.”

Ohio State junior guard Tony Stockman
On his shooting
“I felt like I had a nice rhythm going. I was very confident. I shot OK in practice yesterday but not too well the day before, so maybe it’s a carry-over from yesterday.”

On collecting six steals
“They run a lot of backdoor cuts, so most guys lay back. They got careless a couple times so I tried to be aggressive.”

Ohio State sophomore guard Ricardo Billings
On his play
“I’ve been more confident because my teammates have been telling me to go out and play my game.”

Ohio State sophomore forward Terence Dials
On his play
“Our guards did a great job looking in to us (himself and Velimir Radinovic), like they have been doing the last couple weeks so we had to be aggressive and try to score. When Tony is hot, they (opponents) have to respect that. It clears up the lane and we get some one-on-ones, and it’s hard to double-team us.” Northwestern forward Vegran Vukusic
On the game
“I thought we played well in the first half and kept ourselves in the game. In the second half we came out flat and they took full advantage of our mistakes. Stockman got hot and they began making key shots. We could not find our shots until the end but by then it was too late.”

Northwestern head coach Bill Carmody
On the game
“We didn’t shoot the ball at all until the last five minutes of the game, but they did. They were very active on defense. We let them beat us.”

On Tony Stockman’s performance
“Ohio State has a very good shooter in Tony Stockman. He is a catch-and-shoot kind of guy who played a heck of a game tonight. He stole every ball we passed tonight and a lot of them were turned into points.”
