Ohio State head coach Jim Stone
“We beat a really good team tonight. They are very well coached and it was interesting to see the contrast in (coaching) styles. They (Louisville) have much bigger kids, so we spread out our blockers and relied on our quickness. Both teams played very hard. We liked the way our team played defense. We stayed with the system we planned.

“We expected (Louisville) to be a good blocking team so it was important that we moved people around. Bing (Sun) and Stacey (Gordon) are both fine players and it was a fun match to watch. Both teams played well.”

Sophomore Stacey Gordon
“I felt comfortable going into the match. Louisville is a good team and we knew that, so we just helped each other and pushed ourselves as a team. We felt strong and ready to play tonight.”

Senior Katie Virtue
“It was a good match tonight and we had to fight point-for-point. We did what we were supposed to and played good defense. Our hitters took good swings and I felt I could get the ball to anyone at any time. We pushed at the end (of matches) when we had to.”

Louisville head coach Leonid Yelin
“It was a good match tonight and we just got beat by a better team. It was a great tournament with good facilities and a good atmosphere. Most of the time when Ohio State stepped, up we couldn’t answer.”

Bing Sun
“Everybody gave a good effort. We would push for two or three points but we couldn’t keep going and that is how they (Ohio State) got ahead.”

Sarah Drury
“(Stacey) Gordon is probably the best outside hitter we have seen all year. She was just doing her job and putting down the ball. The setter (Katie Virtue) mixed things up for her and we couldn’t contain her. Our blockers did their job fine.”
