The Buckeyes continued their unbeaten home record tonight vs.Ohio. Under Jim Foster, Ohio State is 15-0 in Columbus dating backto the beginning of the 2002-03 season. Freshmen Jessica Davenportand Brandie Hoskins and sophomore transfer Michelle Muoz started intheir first games wearing Scarlet and Gray tonight. In the firsthalf, Hoskins notched 11 points – as many point as Ohio scored inthe first half last season vs. Ohio State at the Convo in Athens,Ohio – off a 4-for-6 half, including a 3-for-3 stroke from theline. Hoskins also grabbed four boards and dished out six assistsin the first 20 minutes. Four Buckeye players scored indouble-digits tonight. Davenport, Hoskins, Kim Wilburn and CaityMatter tallied 15, 13, 15 and 17 points, respectively. Hoskins ledthe Buckeyes in two categories – rebounding (6 tied with Davenport)and assists (7). Davenport, who was 4-for-4 from the field, blockedthe only two shots of the game for either team. Matter earned threesteals tonight. Wilburn was 6-of-7 from the field and tallied fourassists. Candace Dark earned personal bests in minutes played (13)and points scored (5) vs. Ohio. Three players were perfect from theFT line. Dark was 2-2; Blanton was 4-4; Hoskins was 5-5; Matter was2-2. Tonight’s attendance was 2,381. Last season, Ohio State drew1,754 people in the squad’s first game at home under Jim Foster vs.Wayne State.
