Friday’scontest between Ohio State and Massachusetts marked the firstmeeting in softball between these two schools. Massachusetts seniorAisha Franke, who is on the USA Softball Top 40 Watch List for the2004 Collegiate Player of the Year Award, went 2-for-4 with an RBI.Massachusetts finished 39-15 last season and advanced to the NCAAtournament. The Minutewomen are not ranked but received votes inboth of the two national preseason polls.
