Davenport had four blocked shots Sunday. She recorded her 300th career block at the 15:30 mark of the second half. Davenport is just the second player in Big Ten history to block 300 shots in her career. Trish Andrew had 367 blocks for Michigan from 1989-93. Davenport has 301 career blocks.
With six rebounds Sunday, Davenport also surpassed 800 for her career and now has 805. Davenport is the fifth Buckeye all-time to record 800 career rebounds. Davenport played her 100th career game Sunday vs. USC and scored 12 of Ohio State’s first 19 points.
Star Allen led the Buckeyes with a career-best seven rebounds.Her previous best was five rebounds against Nicholls Nov. 26, 2005.Allen added 12 points, the second most in her career. She had 17against Nicholls last season. Ohio State had four players score indouble figures for the first time this season. Brandie Hoskinsscored 17 points and led the Buckeyes with six assists Sunday. Shehas at least five assists in both games this season. Hoskinsfinished with five assists at Army.
The seven assists Sunday are the most since Hoskins dished 10 vs. Eastern Kentucky Nov. 21, 2005. Hoskins also had five steals.
Maria Moeller had six steals Sunday, the most by a Buckeyesince Kim Wilburn had seven vs. Dayton Nov. 30, 2005. As a team,Ohio State had 18 assists for the second consecutive game. OhioState led 35-24 at half. With the victory Sunday, the Buckeyes havewon 58 of their last 60 games when leading at the break. In thelast two seasons, Ohio State is 31-1 when scoring at least 60points. The only loss came to Boston College, 79-69, in the secondround of the 2006 NCAA Tournament. With the win Sunday, Ohio Statemoved to 17-2 in games played in November in the four-plus seasonsunder head coach Jim Foster. Overall, Ohio State has won 22 of itslast 23 games.
