COLUMBUS, Ohio The OhioState pistol team won two individual titles Thursday at the Collegiate Nationals held at Ft. Benning, Ga.Teresa Meyer (Sr., Dearborn, Mich.) captured the women’s sport pistol title shooting a 663.3 in the championship round. It was her second individual championship this season and the sixth of her career. Krystin Schmid (5th-Sr., Granville, Ohio) finished fifth after the championship round with a 634.9.

The Buckeyes finished third in the event, shooting a 1,612. The U.S. Military Academy won the event with a 1,633 with the U.S. Naval Academy taking second at 1,631. Individual scores included Meyer at 565, Schmidt at 542 and Lauren Diefenderfer (Sr., Bear, Del.) at 505. The Buckeyes finished third overall in the women’s championship, shooting a 2,684. The U.S. Military Academy won the event with a 2,703 with the U.S. Naval Academy finished second with a 2,696


Seth Berglee (Jr., Billings, Mont.) won the open standard pistol title with a 546 score for his second individual title after winning the open free pistol event Wednesday. OSU’s Meyer finished fourth at 538. As a team, the Buckeyes finished third in the event with a 2,114 team score. Other Buckeye scores included Schmid at 520 and Tyler Phillips (So., New Philadelphia) at 510. The U.S. Naval Academy won the event shooting a 2,121, winning the tiebreaker over second place U.S. Military Academy.


Competition concludes Friday with the open air pistol event.
