COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s golf team concluded the 39th Lady Buckeye Invitational in sixth place on a rainy and breezy Sunday at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course. Buckeye freshman Lauren Peter notched her best finish of her opening season, tying for sixth at 4-over par after an even-par 72 in the final round.
Peter, who tied her season-low 71 in the opening round Saturday, earned her third even-par round of the season to go with three sub-par rounds. Fellow freshman Aneka Seumanutafa earned her sixth Top 25 in as many events, tying for 13th after a final-round 4-over 76, while senior Niki Schroeder continued her strong play, earning her fourth Top 25 of the year by placing in a tie for 23rd after a 5-over 77 Sunday.
Junior Adeena Shears tied for 35th at 15-over for the tournament while freshman Skylar Thompson tied for 37th at 16-over and sophomore Yukie Sasaki rounded out the Ohio State lineup in a tie for 51st at 20-over. Three Buckeyes competed as individuals, with sophomore Alanis Sakuma tying for 37th at 16-over, fellow sophomore Sofia Seldemirova one stroke back in a tie for 41st and junior Alex Wright placing 69th at 28-over.
As a team, Ohio State ranked fourth in par-3 scoring at 11-over. Schroeder tied for second in par-5 scoring at 4-under while Peter tied for fourth in par-3 scoring at 1-under.
