COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s Sadhaf Pervez (Sr./Warren, N.J.) will travel to Pacific Palisades, Calif., to compete in the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championship Thursday. Pervez will play Pennsylvania sophomore Alice Pirsu in the first round of action. Pirsu was ranked No. 14 in the preseason Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings, where Pervez was ranked No. 89.

First round winners will advance to the Round of 16, which takes place Friday. The quarterfinals also are scheduled for Friday, the semifinals Saturday and the finals Sunday. Consolation play will be arranged for first round losers.

The event will be the first of three ITA national championships of the 2002-03 seasons. The Nov. 7-10 Omni Hotels/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships is the second and the year-end NCAA Championships is the third.

The All-American Championship dates back to 1983 and the Riviera Tennis Club has played host to the event since 1988. All results will be posted on
