COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s Sadhaf Pervez (Sr./Warren, N.J.) fell in the semifinals of the consolation bracket at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championship Saturday. She was defeated by No. 19 Julie Rotondi (So./Florida), 6-4, 6-1. After her first round loss to No. 14 Alice Persu, Pervez recorded victories against No. 33 Catherine Lynch (So./California) and No. 15 Lauren Barnikow (So./Stanford). Pervez compiled a 2-2 record over the weekend.

The finals of the main draw and the consolation will be played Sunday. The No. 4 seed and No. 5 ranked Kelly McCain of Duke will face No. 11 Nataly Cahana of Old Dominion in the main draw. Urska Juric of Missouri will play Rotondi in the consolation.

The event will be the first of three ITA national championships of the 2002-03 seasons. The other events include the 10 -Omni Hotels/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, Nov. 7-10, and the year-end NCAA championships.

The All-American Championship dates back to 1983 and the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., has played host to the event since 1988. For complete results, refer to
