COLUMBUS, Ohio – Jacob Pasteur was named Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Offensive Player of the Week while teammate Thomas Poole made it a sweep of the weekly league awards by taking MIVA Defensive Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced Tuesday.
In addition, Pasteur was named the AVCA National Player of the Week as well.
Jacob Pasteur of @OhioStateMVB is the AVCA National Collegiate MVB Player of the Week. Pasteur had a big week and helped Ohio State defeat No. 1 Penn State. He totaled 46 kills on the week and hit .521. He also had 17 digs and 7 aces.

Ohio State went 3-0 last week with a road win over No. 1 Penn State (3-2) and a pair of home wins over Lindenwood (3-1) and Quincy (3-0) in league play. The Buckeyes improved to 15-9 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
Pasteur, a junior outside hitter from Westminster, Maryland, added 46 kills to his team-leading season total of 328. His career total of 954 is 18th all-time behind No. 17 Mike Terpstra (958).
In the three wins last week, Pasteur hit .521 with seven aces, 17 digs and four blocks for a total of 55 points.
Defensively, Poole, a junior libero from nearby Dublin, Ohio, led the way with 25 digs in 12 sets played. He had a career-best 11 digs in the win at Penn State. He has 120 digs on the season, second most on the team behind Pasteur (151).
These are the sixth and seventh MIVA weekly awards for the Buckeyes this season. Pasteur and Samuel Clark own two offensive POW honors apiece with freshman Shane Wetzel has earned one. Poole and Noah Platfoot each have earned one defensive POW honor.
