COLUMBUS, Ohio – Michela Paradiso and Nichelle Prince, members of the Ohio State women’s soccer team, have been named third team Scholar All-East Region, the NSCAA announced. The award is the first such honor for both Paradiso and Prince.
Paradiso, a senior co-captain, tied for the team lead with six goals while adding three assists on the year. She finished the season with 15 points, good for third on the team, and wrapped up her career with 18 assists to tie for fourth on the Ohio State career list. The Upper Arlington, Ohio, native who started all 23 matches was at her best down the stretch run of the season, earning Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors Oct. 29 and ESPNW National Player of the Week laurels Nov. 3 after she scored both goals in the Buckeyes’ 2-0 win over Michigan State on Senior Night and followed that up with a goal in the Ohio State’s Big Ten Quarterfinal win at Wisconsin. Paradiso is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten pick and a three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.
Prince, a junior forward, tied Paradiso for the team lead with six goals and tied for the team assists lead with seven. The native of Ajax, Ontario, was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week Aug. 25 after scoring the game-winner in the 95th minute of a 1-0 win over No. 8 Florida. Prince will enter her senior season tied for 11th on the Ohio State career goals list with 22 and ninth on the Buckeyes’ career points list with 59. She is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten pick and OSU Scholar-Athlete.
