Pairings Announced for Emerald Coast Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Pairings were announced on Tuesday for next year’s Emerald Coast Classic, which will be held on Nov. 24-25, at Raider Arena on the campus of Northwest Florida State College.

Ohio State will face Alabama in a semifinal game at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 24, while Oregon will play Santa Clara at 9:30 p.m. The third-place game will be played at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25 with the championship game scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip off.

Other games at Northwest Florida State College on Friday Nov. 24 have Mercer playing Tennessee State at noon, while Southeastern Louisiana meets Western Michigan at 2:30 p.m. These teams will play their second game Nov. 25 with tip offs at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

This will be the fifth all-time meeting between Ohio State and Alabama but the first since the start of the 1980-81 season. Ohio State has also faced Oregon four times previously with the most recent meeting coming in 1993. The lone game against Santa Clara and Ohio State occurred in 1983.

As part of the event, Ohio State will host Western Michigan at the Schottenstein Center on Sunday, Nov. 19. Tip-time for that game will be announced at a later date.
