COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three Ohio State players are in the Top 10 as the Buckeyes lead The Johnnie-O at Sea Island by two shots through 36 holes.
Ohio State is the only team under-par after two rounds. The Buckeyes carded rounds of 2-over 282 and 3-under 277 and sit at 1-under par. That is two shots better than Kansas State and three shots better than Notre Dame. The Buckeyes are seeking their second tournament title this season.
Individually, Maxwell Moldovan leads the way for the Buckeyes after he posted rounds of 70-68 and is in sixth place at 2-under par. Moldovan made four birdies, two bogeys and a field-leading 30 pars over the 36 holes.
Neal Shipley and Jackson Chandler both sit in a tie for 10th at even par. Shipley opened with a 72 but then made a team-high four birdies in his second round of 2-under 68. Chandler had three birdies and three bogeys in each of his rounds to post matching 70s.
JonErik Alford started the day with a round of even-par 70, which featured 16 pars. He then carded a four-over 74 in the afternoon and sits in a tie for 28th at 4-over par.
Adam Wallin returned to form after an opening round 78 to post a 1-over 71 in the afternoon. He is 8-over par for the tournament, one shot ahead of Jacob Tarkany, who carded rounds of 73-76.
The final round starts with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start Tuesday morning. The Buckeyes are paired with Kansas State, Notre Dame and Cincinnati.
