COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior forward Jana Harrigan received Women’s Division I Offensive Player of the Week honors Wednesday for leading the Buckeyes to a home sweep over Yale Jan. 14-15.

The Burlington, Ontario, native had a hand in six of the Buckeyes’ eight goals on the weekend as she guided her team to its first national ranking of the season with a sweep over Yale of the ECACHL. Harrigan recorded her second hat trick of the season and assisted on the gamewinning goal in the 5-4 overtime victory Jan. 14. Harrigan assisted on both the goal that tied the game and the eventual gamewinner in Ohio State’s come from behind 3-2 win Jan. 15.

Harrigan extended her point streak to six games, tallying 12 points (4-8) during the stretch. This season, Harrigan continues to lead the squad with 36 points and 23 assists.

The national award marks the third of the season for Ohio State. Senior forward Jeni Creary received Offensive Player of the Week honors Oct. 21 and sophomore Tessa Bonhomme was named Defensive Player of the Week Oct. 25. The accolade is the fifth for Ohio State in the six-year history of the program.
