US Open Results- Former Buckeyes/RTC Shine
The RTC in its third year of existence won their 2nd consecutive US Open National Title under the guidance of Coach Lou Rosselli. Reece Humphrey 1st, Tervel Dlagnev 1st, Shawn Bunch 2nd, Tommy Rowlands 3rd, James Yonushonis 8th wrestled extremely well to bring home the title over the Penn State RTC, Iowa RTC, and the Olympic TC. Check out the for more details on the organization.

The Ohio RTC is coached by Lou Rosselli, J Jaggers, and Plamen Paskalev. The organization is housed in our wrestling room and we are very fortunate to have the financial supporters who continue to assist these men as they pursue their dreams. Congrats to the RTC and a huge thanks to our friends who support the training center.

Former Buckeye 2x All-American Reece Humphrey earned his first US Open Title this past weekend at 132.3 pounds. Reece prevailed in a great match against fellow RTC member and former World Team Member Shawn Bunch to win his 1st US Open.

Another former Buckeye Tommy Rowlands finished 3rd after losing a tough quarterfinal match. Both Reece and Tommy will compete for a spot on the US world Team on June 9th – 11th. JD Bergman, the current number one ranked wrestler in the US at 211 pounds did not compete due to health reasons. He too will be competing for a spot on the US World team.

Tervel Dlagnev won the 265 pound weight class with a 2 period win over Steve Mocco. Tervel is a former World Medalist placing 3rd. Another placing RTC member was James Yonushonis. James finished 8th at 185lbs.

Anonymous Gift of 1 Million Dollars for OSU Wrestling
The Ohio State Wrestling program received a Million Dollar donation from a great friend who chose to remain anonymous. This special donation will go toward endowing the Head Wrestling Coaches position at Ohio State. It is our mission to fully endow the program. With several programs nationwide discontinuing their wrestling programs, our staff feels strongly about ensuring the “long term” growth and vitality of the sport. We currently have 6 endowed scholarships along with the coaches salary endowment. We will be unveiling a plan in the near future to fully endow the remaining scholarships and positions. We hope you will get involved. A special thanks to our great friend for the tremendous gift to the program and for all of you that value the sport here at Ohio State.

Thanks to NCAA Fans
The Ohio State Wrestling Coaches and Staff would like to thank all of you who made the trek to Philadelphia to support our Buckeye student-athletes. We all understand the time and financial commitment needed to make this happen. I can assure you that you make a tremendous difference for the student-athletes who are competing. Please let us know if you are interested in attending next year in St. Louis. We would like to order more than the 300 tickets we purchased this NCAA tournament. There is nothing quite like hearing the ROAR of a sea of people cheering on the Scarlet and Gray. Thanks again for your support.
