COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s tennis team concluded its fall tournament play Friday during the ITA National Collegiate Indoor Championships, held at the Racquet Club of Columbus. Play began Thursday and runs through Sunday.

Julie Blackmore and Caitlin O’Keefe faced Suzi Babos/Zusuzsanna Foder Friday in the 8-team doubles consolation bracket. The Buckeyes dropped their match to the pair from California with a final score of 8-4. Babos and Foder entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed in women’s doubles before their upset yesterday by Florida State’s Lauren Macfarlane and Nicola Slater (8-6), which led them to consolation rounds.

In the 16-player singles consolation bracket, Blackmore lost her match to Sarah Fansler of Southern California, 6-4, 6-1. Blackmore posts a final fall tournament singles record of 4-7. The Buckeyes end their fall tournament play with an overall record of 44-40 in singles competition, and 23-14 in doubles competition.

The ITA National Indoor Championships continue on Saturday with the men’s and women’s semi-finals in both singles and doubles competition.
