COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s ice hockey senior Jeni Creary was named Women’s Division I Offensive Player of the Week for leading the Buckeyes in their sweep over Minnesota Oct. 15-16.

The Shell Lake, Saskatchewan, native scored two third-period goals to clinch a victory both Friday and Saturday over Minnesota State. Creary scored two goals in the third period to lead OSU to a 2-1 comeback over Minnesota State Friday. Her two goals in game two Saturday secured Ohio State’s 4-2 victory.

This season Creary, an All-WCHA player as a freshman, is second on the team with four points and leads OSU with two power-play goals and two game-winning goals.

The national award marks only the third for Ohio State in the five-year history of the program. Previously, Jeanne Chapple (11/19/01) and Melissa Glaser (2/24/04) earned accolades.
