COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kelsey Mitchell moved into third place on Ohio State’s all-time scoring list after pouring in 22 points in Sunday’s 95-75 win over Nebraska. The Scarlet and Gray tie a season-high with their fifth straight victory.

It was Mitchell’s 17th game of at least 20 points this season and the 21st time she’s led the Buckeyes in scoring. Stephanie Mavunga and Linnae Harper also reached double-digits, scoring 13 and 12 points respectively.

Ohio State improves to 9-1 in the Big Ten and 19-5 overall with the victory today. This game also marked the eighth time OSU scored at least 90 points in a game this year.

The Buckeyes led for nearly the entire game save for a few minutes in the first quarter. Though they shot just 31.8 percent from the field in that first frame they still led 19-10 after the first 10 minutes of play. Offensively they improved greatly after halftime, making just a tick over 60 percent of their field goals and scoring 55 points compared to 40 in the first half.

Shayla Cooper led the team with nine rebounds, the fifth time she’s done that this year. Mitchell led all comers today with seven assists; Ohio State dished out 23 assists against the Cornhuskers, the second-highest total this season. Today also marked the third time the Buckeyes recorded single-digit turnovers (nine).

For Nebraska, Jessica Shepard led all players with 28 points and 13 rebounds.

Next up for Ohio State is a home game against Penn State on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 7:00 p.m. ET
