Ohio State begins the stretch run of its season on Saturday with a noon kickoff against Maryland. The Buckeyes have won 14 consecutive games dating back to last season, the second longest streak in the FBS.

Ohio State enter Saturday’s game with top-10 statistical rankings in total offense (sixth, 514.8 yards/game), total defense (second, 224.3 yards/game), scoring offense (third, 48.3 points/game) and scoring defense (first, 7.9 points/game). The Buckeyes’ defense has given up just two touchdowns over the last 12 quarters and six for the entire season.

This will be the sixth meeting between the Buckeyes and Terps since Maryland joined the Big Ten in 2014. Ohio State has won all six games by an average of 31.4 points/game but most recently in 2018 survived with a 52-51 triumph in College Park.



  • Justin Fields has accounted for 33 touchdowns (24 passing, nine rushing), which is third-best nationally. He has multiple TDs in all eight games this season.
  • The Buckeyes are No. 1 in the country with 10 rushes of 40 yards or more. J.K. Dobbins leads the team with four such rushes. Master Teague has three.
  • Since the start of the 2012 season, Ohio State has won 31 of its last 32 home games against Big Ten opponents with an average margin of victory of 23.3 points.
  • The Buckeyes are second in the country with 73.5 percent of opponent drives that fail to cross the 50 yard line.
  • Ohio State is No. 2 nationally in total defense, allowing just 224.2 yards per game. The school record for fewest yards allowed in a season was in 1973 when the Buckeyes gave up just 223.8 yards/game.
