Ohio State Visits Purdue Fort Wayne for Weekend Series

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s volleyball team will take on Purdue Fort Wayne twice this weekend in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Buckeyes and Mastodons meet on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. Both matches will stream live on ESPN3.

LAST TIME OUT

The Buckeyes (5-7, 4-4 MIVA) are coming off a 3-2 loss to Ball State on March 11. Sotiris Siapanis had his sixth straight match in double figures with a team-high 16 kills. Martin Lallemand recorded his first double-double of the season on 14 kills and 12 digs. Jacob Pasteur added 14 kills while Noah Platfoot tallied 36 assists. Defensively, Luke Meidel turned in a match-best 16 digs.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS

Purdue Fort Wayne (3-5, 3-5 MIVA) split its series with Loyola Chicago after a 3-1 setback last Friday. Vincente Ibarra paces the Mastodons’ offense with 4.46 kills per set, which ranks third in country. Troy Gooch is averaging 2.67 digs to checks in at No. 4 nationally. As a team, the Mastodons rank seventh in assists (12.13) and 10th in kills (12.71).

NATIONALLY KNOWN

Jacob Pasteur is averaging 4.51 points and 3.75 kills per set, which ranks18th and 21st, respectively, among the nation’s leaders. As a team, the Buckeyes are 13th in aces per set (1.38), 17th in assists (11.07), 19th in hitting percentage (.257) and 20th in kills (11.91).
