COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball team will host the 19th annual Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic on Saturday, Sept. 28. Games will be played at Fred Beekman Park, located on the Ohio State campus, and Buckeye Field.
Ohio State will play twice on Saturday at Buckeye Field. The day will begin against Toledo at 10:30 a.m. before the Buckeyes wrap up competition versus Akron at 12:45 p.m.
Twenty-five teams from Ohio and neighboring states are set to participate this year, the most ever. In addition to games at Buckeye Field, Saturday’s slate includes multiple contests on eight fields at Fred Beekman Park. Admission to all games is free and donations to charity will be collected throughout the day at both locations.
The Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic has raised over $250,000, making it one of the largest fundraisers for Breast Cancer Awareness month in central Ohio. Proceeds benefit The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at the OSUCCC-James.
