COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Buckeyes wrapped up the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 2-2 tie against No. 10 Colgate before 2,043 at Starr Ice Rink on the campus of Colgate University.

%^$As they have in three of their last four games, the Buckeyes (12-10-3) grabbed the early lead. On the power play 3:08 into the first period, Louie Colsant (Jr. Palatine, Ill.) took a pass from Brandon Lafrance (Sr., Navan, Ontario) and scored past Red Raider goalie Jason Lefevre to give Ohio State a 1-0 lead.

%^$The score stayed the same until OSU scored a second goal courtesy of the boards at the Starr Ice Rink. Skating into the offensive zone, Jean-Francois Dufour (So., Bedford, Quebec) dumped in a pass that Lefevre went behind his net to control. However, before the puck got there, it took a odd bounce off the boards and deflected right to Lafrance, who controlled the puck and shot it into the vacated net.

%^$Colgate (11-5-2) responded nine minutes later when Andy McDonald scored past OSU goaltender Jeff Maund (So., Mississauga, Ontario).

%^$The score stayed 2-1 until 8:41 was left in the contest when Colgate went on a five-on-three power play. The Red Raiders took advantage as Bryan Long scored past a screened Maund to tie the game up.

%^$Both teams had their chances in overtime, but neither could convert. The Buckeyes and the Red Raiders both took two shots in the extra session.

%^$Maund shined in goal throughout the game for Ohio State. He made 37 saves on 39 shots.

%^$The Buckeyes now return home for perhaps the most important weekend of the season. Thursday night they take on Ferris State at 7 pm in Value City Arena. Ohio State and Ferris State are currently tied for fourth place in the CCHA. The top four teams at the end of the regular season will hold home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
