Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team (5-0) captured first-place honors Saturday at the Walsh Tri-Meet in Canton, Ohio. The Buckeyes finished with 92 points, ahead of second-place Canisius (72) and third-place Walsh (43).

Ohio State junior Leslie Edgerton won the solo event with a mark of 86.666. Two Buckeye freshmen duet groups, Michelle Benzie and Julia Broadfoot and twin sisters Leah and Ayne Pinette, tied for first place with scores of 87.666. The team of Erin Schmidt, Stacey Coffman and Benzie placed first in trio with a mark of 86.666.

The Buckeyes also took home first place in the team event with a score of 88.84. Swimming for Ohio State was Jessica Beck, Benzie, Coffman, Edgerton, Megan Mikulecky, Ayne Pinette, Stephanie Raftery and Schmidt.

The Buckeyes return to action Saturday when the squad plays host to the OSU College Association Meet in the Varsity Pool at Larkins Hall.
