COLUMBUS, Ohio – During the inaugural season of men’s hockey as an official Big Ten Conference sport, at least 13 of 20 Ohio State regular-season league games will be televised, the conference announced Monday. Ohio State is scheduled to appear on BTN, ESPNEWS, SportsTime Ohio, FOX Sports Detroit and FOX Sports North during the 2013-14 campaign.

At least one game from eight of 10 Big Ten series will be televised; five games are slated to be shown from Columbus, with eight road matchups scheduled for broadcast. BTN will televise all five games of the 2014 Big Ten Tournament March 20-22 at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn., as well.

In all, at least 70 games featuring conference schools Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State and Wisconsin will be aired during 2013-14. The lineup includes a national package of 34 games set to air on BTN, ESPNU, and ESPNEWS, each of which is available to at least 75 million homes across the country. An additional 36 games will be carried on FOX Sports Regional Networks. Broadcasts of additional games may be announced in the coming weeks.

BTN will broadcast the first regular-season men’s hockey conference game in Big Ten history Nov. 29 when Ohio State plays at Michigan. Game two of that series, slated for Dec. 2 in Columbus, will be shown by Fox Sports Detroit and SportsTime Ohio. Over the year, BTN will air 27 games, establishing Frozen Friday hockey doubleheaders beginning Jan. 10 and running for eight consecutive weeks.

Other games televised from Columbus include a matchup with Michigan State Jan. 10 on BTN, an afternoon tilt against Penn State Feb. 1 on ESPNEWS, a Sunday afternoon contest against Michigan in Nationwide Arena March 2 on FOX Sports Detroit and SportsTime Ohio and both games vs. Minnesota March 7 (FOX Sports North Plus and SportsTime Ohio) and March 8 (ESPNEWS).

Both games at Minnesota will be broadcast, including the Hockey City Classic outdoor game at TCF Bank Stadium Jan. 17 on BTN, while FOX Sports North and SportsTime Ohio will show the Jan. 18 matchup with the Gophers. Ohio State’s game at Wisconsin Jan. 24 will be game two of a BTN doubleheader, while a Feb. 7 game at Michigan State will kick off a night of hockey on BTN. FOX Sports Detroit and SportsTime Ohio will show the Feb. 8 game against the Spartans. The Buckeyes’ final scheduled televised road contest is at Michigan Feb. 28, game one of a BTN doubleheader.

The non-televised games on the Ohio State schedule are expected to be streamed online through Buckeye Vision at or for home games and through the home teams’ websites for road games.

For the radio call, the Buckeyes return to 1460 AM in Columbus again this season. The station will carry every Big Ten Conference game and a good portion of the non-conference slate, along with all postseason action involving the Buckeyes. Single-game tickets for all Ohio State home games are on sale. Single game tickets are $11 for adults and $8 for student/youth and seniors. Again this year, all Ohio State students will receive free admission to regular-season home games with a valid BuckID.
