Ohio State Readies for Quad Meet at Rutgers

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a record-setting performance in their home opener, the Buckeyes will travel to Piscataway, N.J., for a quad meet at 7 p.m. ET Saturday. Ohio State will face Rutgers, West Chester and Wisconsin-Whitewater at Livingston Recreation Center.


Ohio State picked up its first wins under first-year head coach Meredith Paulicivic with a season-high 196.775 to beat Minnesota (195.775) and Illinois State (190.875). The Buckeyes had nine finishes on the podium and recorded 12 career marks. The team also had five gymnasts earn a 9.900 or better on floor exercise.


The Buckeyes truly shined when they stepped into St. John Arena for their home opener on Jan. 27. The squad won three events in stellar fashion as they tallied season highs on vault (49.075), uneven bars (49.325) and floor exercise (49.575). Ohio State’s 49.325 on uneven bars tied the top score in program history, recorded on Feb. 25, 2012 against Penn State. The team score of 196.775 is the sixth-highest total in OSU history.


Heading into the weekend, Ohio State ranks 12th in the nation on floor exercise behind a 49.094 average, which also leads the Big Ten. The team’s 49.575 on floor tied for the highest score in the country this season. The Scarlet & Gray also stand 20th on vault (48.906).


In her first meet of the season, Kaitlyn Hofland nailed her routine on uneven bars to tie her career high on a 9.925 mark, which checks in at No. 3 in the country. Jamie Stone put up a career-best 9.950 on floor exercise, the second-highest score in the nation.


Season tickets, on sale now, include a ticket to each of the four home meets and are just $40 (reserved) and $29 (general admission) for adults. It is $29 (reserved) and $18 (general admission) for students, youths, and seniors (62+). Single-meet tickets are also on sale at $8 for adults and $5 for students, youths and seniors (62+). Youth under the age of 6 are free.

Ohio State returns to St. John Arena on Friday, Feb. 9 to host a coed meet against Penn State. Action is slated to start at 6 p.m. ET.
