COLUMBUS, Ohio – The NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Committee announced the swimmers who qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday, featuring seven individuals for Ohio State. The event will take place on March 20-23 in Austin, Texas.

Divers will be selected based on performance at the NCAA Zone Diving Qualifiers on March 14-16 in West Lafayette, Ind. Four Buckeyes have posted NCAA Zone qualifying scores this season, three of which qualify on all three boards.

Junior Rebekah Bradley, junior Kathrin Demler, sophomore Hanna Gresser, junior Molly Kowal, sophomore Freya Rayner, sophomore Kristen Romano and sophomore Katie Trace qualified in individual events, and with all five relays qualified, sophomore Taylor Petrak, junior Lucija Jurkovic-Perisa, freshman Georgia White and senior Maria Coy will also compete as alternates.

Demler and Kowal qualify for the championship meet for the third straight year, bringing the most experience to the squad. Bradley, Gresser, Rayner and Romano make their second appearance at the meet in as many years. Trace makes the jump from last year’s alternate squad, while Jurkovic-Perisa and White will compete at their first NCAA Championship meet.

Ohio State’s seven qualifiers is the third-most out of Big Ten teams. Out of 57 teams with selected swimmers, Ohio State ranks in the top 18 with number of qualifiers.

ESPN will provide live linear coverage for both Friday and Saturday finals on ESPNU, as well as digital coverage on ESPN3 for Wednesday and Thursday evening finals. All sessions not part of ESPN’s broadcasts will be streamed live on the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships microsite at https://texassports.com/.
