Day Two Results
Cincinnati, Ohio— Ohio State wrapped up its quad meet at the University of Cincinnati on Saturday, coming out on top in the four team field.

While the Buckeyes set one pool record during Friday’s competition, they tripled that total on Saturday with three new records set at Keating Aquatic Center.

Both relays achieved that feat; the meet-opening 400 medley relay had a time of 3:19.53, besting the previous pool record by almost three seconds. In the final event of the day, the 400 freestyle relay, it was again an Ohio State foursome that came out on top, this time with a time of 3:00.11 Individually Josh Fleagle touched the wall first in the 200 freestyle (1:38.64) en route to the best time the pool has seen in that event.

Three other Ohio State swimmers had first place finishes today. Ching Lim won the 200 IM with his time of 1:50.29; Matt McHugh won the 50 freestyle with a mark of 20.73; and Henrique Painhas won the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:50.83, the second time he has won that event this season at a meet.

In the other three events, the top Buckeye finishers were as follows: Brayden Seal in the 1000 freestyle (9:10.36), Andrew Appleby in the 200 backstroke (1:52.47), and Andrew Lindstrom in the 200 breaststroke (2:06.27).

Next up for Ohio State is a dual meet against conference foe Michigan State in East Lansing. The meet takes place on Friday, Jan. 20. The following day the Buckeyes return home to face Pittsburgh.
