The Ohio State University Rifle Team fired a team score of 4643 on Saturday against Ole Miss (4659) and Alaska Fairbanks (4657).
In smallbore, the team fired a score of 2293 and was led by juniors Rhiann Travis and Jacob Buchanan who both fired scores of 577. They were followed by sophomore Elizabeth Dutton (573), senior Bailey Urbach (566), and freshman Ariel Hall (564). Senior Michael Steinel led the way for the individuals with a score of 578. He was followed by senior Brendan Whitaker and sophomore Mica Harr who both fired scores of 569. Senior Quintin Wotring (568), junior Alli Kissell (565), freshman Annie Tomb (559), sophomore Jared Minor (554), senior Patrick Sardo (552), and sophomore Megan Wilcoxson (551) rounded out individual scoring for Ohio State.
In air rifle, the Buckeyes posted a score of 2350 led by Rhiann Travis who fired a score of 592. Jacob Buchanan was right behind her with a score of 591 followed by Michael Steinel (584), Ariel Hall (583), and Elizabeth Dutton (581) who rounded out team scoring. Annie Tomb led the way for the individuals with a score of 587. She was followed by Mica Harr (583), Quintin Wotring (579), Brendan Whitaker (578), Bailey Urbach (577), Jared Minor (568), Patrick Sardo (564), and Megan Wilcoxson (561). Coach Tanoue said,
“It was good for us to get our feet back on the ground with a high level home match against Ole Miss and Alaska. The team is focused on the road ahead and we are excited to be heading to compete at TCU next weekend.”
Ohio State returns to action next weekend with matches against TCU and Air Force on Saturday and Air Force on Sunday at TCU.
