COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State men’s swimming and diving team concluded its time at the 2015 NCAA championships on Saturday in Iowa City, Iowa, placing 16th overall with 90 points earned. The finish continues the Buckeyes’ streak of consecutive Top 25 showings, as the program has collected 11-straight.

Ohio State’s Michael DiSalle, Matt McHugh, Andrew Appleby and Josh Fleagle concluded the meet with a bang, earning a school-record time of 2:49.93 for ninth place in the 400 freestyle relay. The Buckeyes qualified for the consolation final with a then season-best time of 2:51.67, which ranked 10th among the field. The grouping topped a record of 2:51.26 set in 2014.

Senior Tamas Gercsak topped his own school record in the 200 butterfly with a 19th-place finish in a time of 1:42.92. His previous best time of 1:43.54 was recorded in 2013.

In prelims of the 200 backstroke, senior Rowan Williams claimed 21st in a time of 1:41.73. Williams’ classmate Steven Zimmerman also suited up in the event, earning 37th in 1:43.88.

Posting a season-best time of 42.74, DiSalle just missed a spot in finals of the 100 freestyle, placing 20th overall. In the 200 breaststroke, DJ MacDonald registered the 38th-fastest time with a mark of 1:57.52.

Rookie Brayden Seal dropped a season-best in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 15:11.04 for 32nd.
