KANE’OHE, Hawaii. – The Ohio State women’s golf team earned a third-place finish at the 2020 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. The Buckeyes shot a 292 on the last day of competition for an overall score of 872. Arizona State won the tournament, carding an 852 and TCU snagged the runner-up stop with an 871. Ohio State’s outright claim of third out of the 16-team field is the best finish by the team this season.
Sophomore Aneka Seumanutafa fired a 5-under 67 in the final round of competition to grab the fourth-place spot on the individual scoreboard. Her 67 is the second-lowest score she has recorded all season and the second-lowest this season for the Buckeyes. Seumanutafa is one of three Buckeyes to card a score in the 60s this year and she was one of only four student-athletes in the tournament to record an eagle.
Ohio State recorded 9-over in par-3 scoring to claim third in the category. The Buckeyes also shot 14-over in par-4 scoring and tallied 181 pars, runner-up to tournament champion No. 3 Arizona State.
