Top Notch Competition in Columbus
The Buckeyes will be facing off with a slew of other Power 5 schools this weekend in Columbus, including five ranked teams. The Ohio State men’s team enters the meet ranked No. 16 in the latest CSCAA Division I poll, while the women are tabbed as the No. 23 team in the nation.

The highest ranked team in attendance this weekend is NC State who comes in at No. 5 on the men’s side and No. 12 on the women’s side. Both of Notre Dame’s (No. 13 men, No. 18 women) and Kentucky’s (No. 17 women, RV men) teams are ranked or receiving votes. Full list of competing teams.

Last Time Out
The men’s team defeated Denison University by a score of 200-90 after sweeping all 16 events on Nov. 3. Noah Lense (100/200 butterfly), Stephen Romanik (1M, 3M) and Nick Hogsed (200 free & IM) all claimed two titles in the win. Connor Isings and Ben Sugar collected their first career collegiate wins in the 200 breaststroke and 100 backstroke, respectively.

The women knocked off visiting Denison (201-91) and Akron (184-109) in a triangular meet on Nov. 3 as well. Molly Kowal (500/1000 free), Meg Bailey (200 fly & IM) and Genevieve Angerame (1M, 3M) were all two-event winners at the meet.

Big Ten Accolades
Ohio State has been earned a Big Ten award after each of its three meets this season. Most recently, Christo Law earned Big Ten Diver of the Week (Nov. 15) honors after sweeping titles on the one meter, three meter and platform at the inaugural Minnesota Diving Invitational.

The prior week, Freya Rayner was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week (Nov. 8) for her splendid performance at the triangular meet with Akron and Denison. The United Kingdom native won three races at that meet including matching her season-best of 22.87 in the 50 freestyle which ranks as the third-fastest time in the Big Ten this season.

Paul DeLakis was the first Buckeye to earn Big Ten honors after swimming splendidly at the first meet of his career.

Liz Li to Return in January
Five-time Big Ten champion Liz Li is slated to return to competition for the Scarlet and Gray in January. A native of China, Li is spending time back home fulfilling training obligations with her national team. Having already graduated from Ohio State, the freestyle specialist will begin graduate school in January.
