Ohio State finished the first of four rounds of the Big Ten Championship today with the score of 289 to tie for third place with Northwestern. Justin Collins (So., Ironton, Ohio/Ironton) finished round one with the score of 69 to tie with Ryan Miller of Purdue for first place.

The tournament, which began today, is hosted by the University of Illinois and is being held at the Stone Creek Golf Club (par 72) in Urbana, Ill. through Sunday. Ohio State has won 22 Big Ten Championships and has seen 17 medalists of the tournament. The Buckeyes hold the most Big Ten Championship wins of any school in the tournament.

Jason Oien (Jr., New Albany, Ohio/Westerville North) and Kevin Hall (Fr., Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Rita) tied after round one, shooting 73 for 20th place. Mike Austin (Sr., Burton, Mich./Flint Powers Catholic) and Ryan Dennis (Jr., Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) are tied in 27th place, scoring 74.

The tournament will continue tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. with round two. Round three will begin tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. The final round of the tournament will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
