WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Ohio State women’s soccer team topped No. 21 Wake Forest, 1-0, Saturday night at Spry Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.

“I’m glad we spent a good part of preseason defending,” Lori Walker, Ohio State head coach, said. “It was good for the team to get out there and compete to get the win.”

Alexis Degler scored the lone goal in the contest in the 67th minute. Sammy Edwards played a through ball down the right side, Kayla Varner tracked it down and played a back-heel flick to Sydney Dudley who tapped a pass to Degler who finished far post from eight yards out.
