Ohio State Continues 2023 Postseason at NCAA Norman Regional

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team is headed to the 2023 NCAA women’s gymnastics championships. The team earned the No. 16 seed and will head to Norman, Okla. for the Norman Regional starting next week.

The Buckeyes are slated to compete at the Lloyd Noble Center on March 30 in the second session of the Norman Regional Second Round against No. 1 Oklahoma, Arkansas and the winner of the first round matchup between NC State and Ball State. The session will start at 8 p.m. ET.

Also in the Norman Regional are No. 8 Alabama, No. 9 Kentucky, Illinois and Iowa. The top two teams of each second round quad will advance to the regional final on April 1.

The top two programs at the regional final, plus the top all-around competitors and top event specialist on each event who are not on an advancing team, will punch their ticket to the 2023 national championship meet.

Ohio State improved to 22-8 on the year after its fourth-place finish at the 2023 Big Ten Championship meet on Saturday. The team earned its highest overall finish at the meet since 2012 and the highest conference championship meet score in program history (196.975).

During the 2023 regular season, the Buckeyes broke numerous program records. The team recorded program-record home scores twice, with the record now standing at 197.575 (vs. Maryland – Feb. 5). Also against Maryland, Ohio State set a program record on beam with a team score of 49.500.

Four Buckeyes earned All-Big Ten recognition for their success during the season. Freshman Payton Harris was named to the First Team while Lexi Edwards, Sydney Jennings and Nicole Riccardi earned Second Team honors.

The 2023 national championship meet will be held in Fort Worth, Texas at Dickies Arena April 13-15. Regionals will be held in Denver, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh and Norma, Okla. from March 29-April 2.
