COLUMBUS, Ohio – They’ve done it again.
The Ohio State pistol team defended its Intercollegiate Pistol Championships title and claimed its third consecutive national championship on Saturday evening in Anniston and Talladega, Ala.
Along with the hardware for the team also came two individual titles: Katelyn Abeln took first place overall in the three-event aggregate and air pistol events while Maria Tsarik was the individual winner in the sport pistol and standard pistol.
The Buckeyes were dominant this year, sweeping the top three spots in every team and individual event. It also continues a trend of titles for the scarlet and gray as they’ve now won eight total open and women’s national titles in pistol events since 2000.
