Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Ohio State Pistol team traveled out west this past weekend to compete in the Rocky Mountain Invitational. Coast Guard, Army West Point, Utah, Texas A&M, and North Dakota State also competed alongside the Buckeyes. Utah competed only in Women’s Team Aggregate, while Texas A&M and North Dakota State competed with less than a full team in Open, and Army West Point, Utah, Texas A&M, and North Dakota State competed with a less than a full team in Women’s Team Aggregate. Ohio State took first in Open (6,416) and placed second in Women’s Team Aggregate behind Coast Guard (3,200).
More Buckeyes set new personal bests this past weekend, including Cade Haiby (Free; 492, Air; 543, 3-Gun; 1544), Shrenik Jain (Free; 518. Air; 554, 3-Gun; 1607), Irene Li (Sport; 529, 2-Gun; 1037), Bernard Melus (Free; 516), and Emily Nothnagle (2-Gun; 1073, Sport Pistol; 539)
Some highlights of your Buckeyes include Sam Gens taking first place in Free Pistol (537) and Air Pistol (559), while Anthony McCollum took second in Air Pistol (557) and Standard Pistol (540), and Emily Rust took second in Women’s Air Pistol (551) and Sport Pistol (539). Bernard Melus also shot in an exhibition Rapid Fire Pistol match.
The Buckeyes will next compete at MIT on November 10th and 11th in Cambridge, Mass.
