Ohio State battles with Nation’s Elite

CLEMSON, SC – The Buckeyes traveled to Clemson University to compete in the Tiger Paw Invitational this weekend, and they held their own among the top ranked teams in the country, taking home seven gold medals. Additionally, two more school records fell as  Nick Gray and Abby Nichols made Buckeye history in their events.

Julia Rizk gave Ohio State their first medal by completing the Mile Run with a new personal record time of 4:42.10s to claim gold.

Then, Sade Olatoye continued her success in Shot Put, as her 17.12m throw was the best of the day.

The team of Lomong, Fajardo, Hayes, and Bauers claimed victory in the Men’s 4000m Distance Medley to finish the day on Friday.

On Saturday, the Buckeyes were excellent in the 200m Dash, as Nick Gray took third with a new Ohio State record 20.82s sprint.

Luke Landis wasn’t done yet, as he completed the 3000m Run with the fastest time in his career: an 8:11.15s performance to take first place.

Last but certainly not least, Abby Nichols competed at the GVSU Big Meet, and recorded the best 5000m Run in Buckeye history. Her time of 16:14.00s is in the record books.
