KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Wednesday the NABC Division I All-District teams, recognizing the nation’s best men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America teams to be announced at the conclusion of the 2006-07 NCAA regular season.

Ohio State freshmen Greg Oden and Mike Conley Jr. represent the Buckeyes on the District 10 team. Oden was selected to the first team while Conley made the second team.

Oden leads the Buckeyes (26-3 overall, 14-1 in the Big Ten) in scoring (15.3 ppg.) and rebounding (9.3 rpg.) in 22 games played this season. He is a two-time Big Ten Player of the Week with the most recent honor coming after wins vs. Penn State (2/21) and No. 1 Wisconsin (2/25) in which he averaged 14 points and 9.5 rebounds for the 2007 Big Ten Champion Buckeyes.

Oden, a center from Indianapolis Lawrence North High School, did not play the first seven games of the season while recovering from offseason right wrist surgery. He missed his first field goal attempt as a Buckeye in his debut against Valparaiso (12/2) then made 17-consecutive shots before misfiring his final attempt in a 6-of-7 shooting performance against Cincinnati (Dec. 16). He continues to regain flexibility in his right (natural shooting hand) wrist and shoots foul shots left-handed while his right wrist recovers.

He leads the Big Ten in five statistical categories: field goal percentage (.609/126-207), rebounds (9.5 rpg.), blocks (3.55 bpg.), offensive rebounds (3.45 orpg.) and defensive rebounds (6.0 drpg.).

Conley, a point guard and high school teammate of Oden’s, recently knocked down the game winner on a runner in the lane with less than four seconds to play in Ohio State’s thrilling 49-48 victory over then-No. 1 Wisconsin last Sunday in Columbus. He leads the Buckeyes with 187 assists and 68 steals this season, both freshman records at Ohio State.

In his first game as a Buckeye, Conley recorded a 10-assist game against VMI then added 10-assist outings in his first Big Ten game (vs. Indiana 1/2/07) and then again vs. Northwestern (1/17), Iowa (1/20), Minnesota (2/18) and Penn State (2/21). He has started all 29 games for the No. 1 ranked Buckeyes and averages 30.5 minutes a game.

Conley leads all Big Ten players in assists (187/6.45 apg.), steals (68/2.34 spg.) and assist-to-turnover ratio (+3.07) while rating No. 5 in field goal shooting percentage (.535/108-202).

Ohio State has one regular-season game remaining at Michigan Saturday before beginning the 2007 Big Ten Tournament as the No. 1 seed March 9 in Chicago.
